I definitely recommend the Romanticas! I remember when they were introduced in the US about 10 years ago. I wanted to grow them all! I've since realized that only a handful of them are suitable for the climate here, but in my opinion these roses as a group have lived up to their hype.
I've only grown 'Guy de Maupassant' for 2 years, and so far it has been very prone to blackspot, which has stunted its growth. So I can't offer any useful comments just yet on its size or growth habits. I'm hoping that its blackspot resistance will improve this year. I'll try to take better notes on fragrance this year
My favorite Romanticas are 'Traviata,' 'Eden,' and 'Tchaikovsky.'

I would say that it has been quite prone to blackspot -- about the same as 'Alnwick Castle,' but no worse than 'A Shropshire Lad' and not better than 'Jayne Austin.'
I agree that tolerating a little blackspot is the best way to grow roses.
