I tried a new rose spray last year, and thought I'd pass along some info about it. It's called Rose Pharm. It's an organic spray made of glycerin and peppermint oil. It's supposed to work as an isecticide, miticide and fungicide.
I used it sparingly for minor aphid damage.
Easy to use, it's an interesting new product.
Park Seed Co. sells it, as well as Amazon, and probably other sources.

Thanks for sharing that info! Sounds interesting. In general I have nothing against organic pesticides, but I try to keep my rose care to the bare minimum, because I want to put my roses through the wringer, so to speak, for evaluation purposes. If I had a bit more self-respect as a rosarian though, I'd probably give some of these new organic products a try. Is blackspot much of a problem in your garden?

I get some blackspot late in the season, August/ Sept. time frame.
This past autumn seemed to have more than past years, maybe because there was so much rain during the summer.
Sometimes I've wondered if my roses are planted too close together, although I'be been assuming they're OK.
I've also wondered if too much mulch can restrict air flow around the base of the plant, or trap too much moisture, especially during a rainy season.
