I also have the same rose from High Country which was identified as President de Seze. I agree that it was misidentified. I am very impressed by its vigor, cold hardiness and profusion of bloom! I would love to know what is is, though, if anyone figures it out. A friend thought that it had some traits of the Frankfurt rose, especially the shape of its hips.

Hey belmont! Thanks for sharing that info. To add to the mystery, I have 2 other roses that are exactly like the mislabeled President de Seze: a mislabeled 'Gloire de France' and a possibly mislabeled 'Blush Hip,' both from Pickering Nurseries.
I like the rose for the same reasons you mentioned, but I agree that it would be nice to know the real name. If you're interested, you might want to read my discussion on HelpMeFind about it: http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?i=A1828&tab=32
I plan to order President de Seze from Vintage Gardens when they have it available again.

Your pictures do look similar to mine but my blooms are paler. It could just be the photos. Mine have a very cool violet cast. Unkown rose

I had Rev. Douglas Seidel in my garden today and asked his opinion on our mystery rose. He thought it looked like what Pickering sells as Blush Hip but he felt that ID was wrong.
When I look at the photos of Blush Hip on HMF, half of them are defiinitely my rose. I couldn't tell for sure where all of the photos are from but I seemed like a few were European.
He said the rose reminded him of Agatha, a Frankfurt rose. Some of the photos on HMF do seem similar, but I think we are not there yet...

OK, here's my latest discovery on the mystery rose. High Country Roses seems to no longer have our rose listed as President de Seze. It's now under Blush Damask. When I look up Blush Damask on Help Me FInd the descriptions (mostly) and photos do seem to be a match. Check it out.
