This rose makes a lovely display in Spring, but if the blooms are all ruined by rains then it's just a big eyesore.
It was determined that Sombreuil is NOT a tea rose. That figures since it is completely hardy here and can reach over 10 ft.
My plant was ravaged by sawfly larvae in early-mid spring. Most of the leaves fell off and the plant was very slow to recover.
June 9. A few spots.
August 8. Older leaves blackspotted or fallen off. Vigorous new growth.
